The SAT can be a major part in deciding your future. While taking the exam you’ll likely feel a lot of pressure to perform well and you may not finish. Don’t panic, there are ways to better your chances of doing your best on the SAT with proper preparation. Below, Peach State Tutoring & Test Prep in Alpharetta, GA, shares three tips to help you finish on time that have proven to be helpful in their over 30 years of tutoring.

3 Tips to Help You Finish the SAT on Time

1. Familiarize Yourself With the Exam

Nerves and inexperience are two major reasons why people don’t finish the SAT. Thankfully, there is an easy way to mitigate both: Get to know the test before you take the real one. Take as many practice exams as possible in the months leading up to your test date, so you know what to expect.

2. Go Back to Questions You Don’t Know

SATIt can be easy to get stuck and spend 15 minutes on one question, and that cuts a huge chunk of time out of your allotted amount. Instead, skip questions you don’t know and come back to them so you can get everything you do know done before working on the ones you’re unsure of.

3. Bring a Watch

Every SAT classroom should have a clock visible, but don’t waste precious seconds staring up at it every couple of minutes. Make sure you wear a watch on test day, as you won’t be able to check your phone. Smartwatches are not allowed, so choose an analog or regular digital option to ensure that your time-telling device follows the regulations.

With these preparation steps under your belt, you should feel more prepared and less stressed when it comes time to take your SAT.
