CrossFit® is an exceptional way to lose weight, gain muscle, and become healthier overall. Whether you are new to CrossFit or you’re an experienced veteran, the movements can help you excel in your health and fitness goals. In fact, there are three common moves often used to train your entire body. To help, we at Bombers CrossFit, an elite fitness center in Dayton, OH, want to share our knowledge.

Try these three CrossFit moves to experience all the benefits:

  • CrossFitBox Jumps: Box jumps are a simple yet extremely effective move we do at Bombers CrossFit daily. First, set up a box or bench that will easily hold your weight. If you’re just starting, we recommend one that is 12 inches tall. For the more experienced, try a 30-inch box. Stand in front with your toes facing it, and using your hands for momentum, jump onto the box and balance for a quick moment. Jump back down, and repeat the motion for 30 seconds. We recommend this move because it works the butt, hamstrings, and calves.

  • Burpees: Burpees have a reputation of being difficult. This is because it provides a full-body workout by using simple movements. Begin in a standing position. Upon starting, throw your hands above your head and jump upwards. Upon landing, immediately drop down into a plank position and perform a pushup. Bring your fingers in toward your hands, by making a fist; then, release your fingers as you raise to a standing position before repeating the entire process. Burpees work your arms, abs, and legs all at once.

  • Jump Rope: Using a jump rope in CrossFit is an exceptional cardiovascular workout. If basic jump rope is too simple for you, try increasing your speed, so the rope passes under your feet twice with each jump. Jump rope not only gives you a cardio workout and improves stamina, but it also strengthens your calf muscles.
