With over 3.5 million drivers on the road, the trucking industry is an important part of the American economy and way of life. Trucking companies like Rojac Trucking in Wailuku, HI, connect points across the country and create safe, efficient methods of delivery and transportation. Truckers have an important job to do, and National Truck Driver Appreciation Week is when the country gives back. As a locally owned and operated business on Maui, Rojac Trucking is proud to support their team during this week of thanks.

A Week of Acknowledgment

trucking companyThis year, National Truck Driver Appreciation Week is September 10–16. It’s one week out of the year when truck drivers are honored for their commitment and sacrifice. With long, sleepless nights spent away from families and the responsibility of keeping the roadways safe, truck driving is one of the most demanding careers in the country. The American Trucking Association sponsors the week-long observance every year, and they encourage businesses, suppliers, and trucking companies to organize local events to show their favorite truckers how much they’re appreciated.

The Life of a Truck Driver

Whether the truck driver in your life is based on Maui and hauling truckloads of local goods across the island or over on the mainland, they’ve made a major industry commitment. Heavy haul trucking is the only plausible solution for transporting everything from food, furniture, and construction supplies. Without trucking companies, the economy wouldn’t function as it does. Truck drivers deliver regardless of weather, traffic conditions, or the state of the economy, and 80% of communities rely on them alone to deliver their goods and commodities.

Truck driving isn’t a job for everyone, but it’s an industry that employs 7.3 million American citizens and over 3,000 Hawaiians. Rojac Trucking is a piece of that puzzle, and they encourage everyone to help them celebrate National Truck Driver Appreciation Week.
