Advanced Wound Care of Coryell Memorial (AWCCM) was awarded the Center of Distinction Award for its measureable commitment to excellent patient care. Coryell Memorial Healthcare System employees, physicians, and community leaders all turned out for the awards presentation and luncheon. Sonnet Perkins, area vice president for Healogics, presented the award to the Medical Director, Aaron Humphreys, MD, and Tiffany Clary, RN, BSM, Clinical Program Director, the AWCCCM team including Ryan Fowler, MD, Megan Whisenhunt, RN, BSN, Tricia Peterson, LVN, and Sean Hill, Front Office Coordinator, and Jeff Mincy, Paramedic, Coryell EMS Director and AWCCM Executive Sponsor. Not pictured is Gary Cramer, DPM, and Steven Norris, MD. 

 

Dr. Humphreys said about winning the award, “It is humbling to knowing that people come to us for help and relief when their bodies fail them and their wounds won’t heal. It is our privilege to care for them and an honor to win this prestigious award by just doing what we do every day. I would like to thank the entire wound care team, who always put the patient first.” 

 

Open since September 2015, the Advanced Wound Care at Coryell Memorial provides care to patients with wound healing problems. Our medical staff evaluate and treat patients with advanced knowledge of the complex nature of non-healing wounds. AWCCM offers the most up to date and advanced wound care therapies that are available. Included in these are: hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT), bio-engineered skin substitutes, negative pressure wound therapy, debridement, compression therapy, specialty dressings, off-loading, and visits to our clinic weekly.
