A second person has died after a fiery traffic crash over the weekend, and the identity of the other person killed in the crash has been released.
Michael Harnett, 22, of Bellevue, died Wednesday night, Omaha police said Thursday. He had been critically injured in a crash that occurred early Saturday at South 36th and L Streets.
Police said Harnett lost control of the Infiniti sedan he was driving east on L Street just before 1 a.m. The car slid across several lanes of traffic. The vehicle left the roadway, struck the fence of Ready Mixed Concrete at 3602 L St. and then hit a concrete truck. The car caught fire, police said.
Harnett was ejected from the vehicle. He was taken to Nebraska Medical Center after the crash.
