On November 25, about 100 students attended Executive Forum 2014, hosted by Touro College Graduate School of Technology. The purpose of the forum was to help college students advance their technology and computer science careers. The panel consisted of experienced Information Technology executives including:
- Abe Cytryn, CTO at Magzter
- Shay David, Founder and CRO at Kaltura
- Hal Friedlander, CIO at NYC Department of Education
- Evelyn Fuhrer, Managing Director at Promontory Financial Group
- Phil Teplitsky, Managing Director and CTO at HPSquared
Panelists discussed their personal career paths that led to their current positions and what they’ve found most rewarding in their career. They gave students tips on how to get a job or advance their career within an organization, as well as how to distinguish themselves from both a technical and personal perspective. Overall, their insight helped students prepare for or advance their careers in technology. When the question and answer period was over students, were able to network with the executives.
The college focuses on a variety of programs, including business, technology, and computer science. They often host programs and events, like the Executive Forum 2014, that will benefit students. Students are able to get real-life advice and hear directly from people in their industry—something that might not always happen in college.
Whether they major in education or computer science, all students benefit from such events. To learn more about Touro College’s programs and events, see the contact information below.
