Love to cook, or not so much? Well we all want more “me time”, so follow these tips for saving time in the kitchen and preparing healthy meals.

  1. Meal Plan- Don't wait until 5:30 at night to figure out what to eat, practice meal planning with your family.  This way you have everything you need, your family knows the menu or how to help, and no decision making is needed.
  2. Clean as you cook by washing knives, strainers, pots and pans as soon as you are done using them. This makes clean up a snap, especially if you can load the dishwasher and have it ready and clean for the next day.
  3. Two words: Slow Cooker.  I love this invention and every time I use it I smile because I can kick up my feet and relax instead of rushing to make a meal.  Search recipes that the whole family will enjoy.
  4. Be a weekend warrior.  Save time for batch cooking, grocery shopping, & chopping of fruits and vegetables. You will thank yourself come Monday morning and be more likely to stick to your weight loss diet because of it.
