Don’t have the money for gym membership of live too far away from one?  That’s ok, it really doesn’t take but a few simple pieces of equipment to get in a good workout.  These can also be done from home, which means you choose what time and company you want during your workout.  Here are some simple ideas for building a home gym that will give you variety in your workouts, but also accomplish your goal for a full body workout.

Adjustable jump rope. This is a terrific cardio workout and if adjustable, all members of your family can use and enjoy it.

Trampoline. A small trampoline can provide a great workout too. Little cost = big payoff.

Yoga mat.  Use for yoga and beyond… for crunches, planks, and stretching.

Hand weights.  3, 5, and 10 pound weights are great for working different muscle groups.  Increase your calorie burn by adding light weights to your walking routine.

Resistance bands.  Take them on vacation or place them next to your favorite TV spot and use during commercial breaks.  Learn a few techniques and let your body reap the reward.

A quality pair of walking shoes.  Treat your feet to a comfortable walk. Nothing beats a brisk walk to end your day while burning calories and breathing in the fresh air.
