If your teen is entering their junior or senior year of high school, they’re probably already thinking about taking the SAT or ACT as part of the college application process. Peach State Tutoring & Test Prep offers inexpensive SAT and ACT prep courses to help students in Roswell, Johns Creek, Milton, Cumming, Duluth, Norcross, Suwanee, and Alpharetta, GA, ace their exams. This summer, they’re providing intensive boot camp sessions to prepare students for these important tests.

Here, the tutoring experts offer three reasons your teen should enroll in the course designed for the exam they plan to take.

Individual Instruction

Some SAT and ACT prep courses enroll hundreds of students, making it difficult to receive one-on-one assistance. Peach State Tutoring & Test Prep’s summer program limits enrollment to 12 students per class, maximizing the time each student spends with their tutor. This gives teens the opportunity to ask questions about the areas where they’re struggling and receive more personal feedback.

Help Developing a Study Strategy

SAT Alpharetta GAMany students spend time studying everything that might appear on the exam, but their time may be better spent improving specific academic skills. Working with Peach State Tutoring & Test Prep helps students gain insight into their strengths and weaknesses, so they understand what to focus on when studying.

During the boot camp, tutors will break the exam into smaller pieces, so students become more familiar with both the formatting and subject matter, making preparation more manageable.

Exposure to Test Procedures

Some teens are surprised to learn that the SAT and ACT are not conducted like their regular in-class tests. Being familiar with the format and testing procedure can improve students’ scores and make it easier to finish each section within the allotted time.

During the boot camp, students will learn what is in each section and how to approach multiple-choice and essay questions. Practicing these skills in advance may your teen’s alleviate test anxiety and make the SAT or ACT feel easier since they know what to expect.

Help your student make the most of their summer break with an SAT or ACT boot camp at Peach State Tutoring & Test Prep. The SAT camp is scheduled for August, and the ACT camp will run in September.
