The Way of the People; The Way for the Whale 

The city of Utqiagvik has been preparing for their Sping Whaling season! How, you ask? It begins with clearing ice for an unknown number of miles, to make way for the hunted whale. This photo shows a team of whalers working together to clear the way! Once the whale has given itself to the whalers, they will drag the whale along the man made trail back into the community where the celebratory remarks begin!
