Easter and Holy Week are an exciting time when Waikiki locals celebrate the resurrection of Jesus. Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Honolulu, HI, is holding several worship services during the week, starting on April 9 and ending on Easter, April 16. All guests are welcome to stop by and enjoy the time of service with fellow Christians in the area — and, yes, that includes non-members!

Worship Service Times for Holy Week

April 9

This 10 a.m. worship service is a celebration of Jesus’ triumphant entry into Jerusalem following regular Sunday service. You’ll find good worship music and a thoughtful teaching from Reverend Yukio Hamada.

April 12

For the last day of Lent, come for a church-wide prayer and fasting day starting at 8 a.m. and ending at 6 p.m. The church will focus on praying for the safety and security of refugees around the globe during this time. At 6:30 p.m., fasting will stop with a soup supper.

April 13

The church will have Maundy Thursday Worship at 7:00 p.m. During this service, the congregation will gather to remember the sacrifice Jesus paid, as well as His commandment to love each other.

April 14

Services will focus on the passion and pain of Jesus’ crucifixion. Worship will be centered around His last words on the cross.

April 16

It’s Easter Sunday! Celebrate Jesus’ victory over sin and death through resurrection at 10 a.m. The congregation will usher the new covenant with humanity and his creation, as well as welcoming nearly 10 new members to the church.
