What is a clambake?

Clambakes offer the perfect opportunity for a summer feast! Traditionally, a clambake is an outdoor social gathering by which clams and other seafood offerings are baked or steamed in a pit and underneath a bed of seaweed.

Clambakes by Jim Sanford uses a system of wooden boxes which Jim designed to cook clambakes for 40 to 1000 people! The seaweed is also shipped from Maine for added freshness. Through this process the food is steamed in rockweed under canvas and above ground. While clambakes are well known for being great at the beach or tailgates, in the summer time clambakes are ideal for backyards, terraces, patios, rooftops, office parties and more!
