With its crisp air and brightly blooming flowers, spring is a wonderful time for everyone to experience the beauty of nature and play outdoors. At Oak View Baptist Church in High Point, NC, one way they encourage children in their fellowship to appreciate the beauty of spring and engage in physical activity is through Upward Sports.

This spring, the soccer division of Upward Sports will be holding two evaluation days: one on Saturday, March 11, and the other on Thursday, March 16. It's open to kids between grades 4 and 6.

Upward Sports is proud to be "the world's largest Christian sports league for kids." Children who participate in these sports have a unique opportunity to connect with fellow faith-minded individuals who share the same connection and passion for the Word of the Lord.

fellowshipAll sports cultivate a healthy self-awareness and understanding of responsibility, but Upward Soccer in particular offers this through the lens of His Grace. As children in the program run through the field, intent on doing their best and helping their teammates, they gain a better, more compassionate grasp of the concepts of dedication and commitment.

Although teamwork is taught in all group sports, in Upward Soccer, participants will also learn what team spirit truly means. Team spirit is one of the top values of the fellowship of Oak View Baptist Church, and Upward Soccer is committed to nurturing it.

Now’s the time to enroll your child in Upward Soccer and combine their development as an individual of faith with their passion for sports. The first evaluation day is Saturday, March 11. For more information, contact Oak View Baptist Church today at (336) 841-6511. Other kids and teens between grades 6 and 12 looking for ways to participate in the fellowship may want consider joining the church's youth group. For details and a calendar of events, please visit their website.
