Since the 1880’s, there has been an eating and drinking establishment located where Walker’s sits today at 16 North Moore St in Tribeca. To uphold this historic tradition, Walker’s serves classic American fare for lunch, dinner, and brunch, with a taste of old New York in every dish. The menu consists of dishes such as Cornmeal Crusted Willapoint Oysters, Buffalo Chicken Wings, Sirloin Burgers, Angus Steaks, and Pan Roasted Atlantic Salmon.
The restaurant itself was opened in 1987 by three partners: Scott Perez, Martin Sheridan, and Gerard “Jerry” Walker. They wanted to evoke the feeling of an old NYC saloon; a classic bar where customers could feel comfortable in and welcomed. The tin ceilings, walls, old floors, and even the gas lines used in the barroom years ago, are still there. The interior is similar in all aspects to how it was when it first opened, except with the addition of modern conveniences like electric lighting.
Over the years things have changed, but the restaurant strives to continue serving their community through the good times and bad times. Everyone is welcome and the staff grants every customer who walks through the door with responsive, friendly, and professional service.
In addition to great food, the restaurant has many beers on tap, including Guinness and some local brews, and a great wine list featuring wines from the best regions in the world. There’s also a children’s menu available for families with young ones. Walker's also hosts private parties as their space permits, and caters on and off the premises.
