Going to Medical Assistant School? 3 Tips to Increase Your Productivity, Manhattan, New York

During medical assistant school, you will be learning everything from terminology and anatomy to physiology and patient care. Since it can be easy to get overwhelmed with your studies, a healthy approach to productivity is crucial for your success. To help their students to succeed in medical assistant school, Mandl School, The College of Allied Health encourages students to continue to live a well-rounded, fulfilling life, even during their formal studies.

Here are three tips to help you be more productive during medical assistant school so that you can enjoy the career of your dreams someday:

  • Set Realistic Goals: When you are in college, you might be tempted to have study marathons to master all of the major course content within an evening. However, plowing through text after text or taking care of your term paper in a few hours might not be helpful in the long run. Instead, focus on setting realistic, attainable goals to maintain quality.
  • medical assistant schoolTake Care of Your Body: If you aren’t healthy, you won’t focus as well in school. Take care of your body daily by eating a healthy diet, getting a good amount of exercise, and sleeping at least seven to eight hours a night. In addition to having more energy, you will think more clearly.
  • Make Time for Leisure: In addition to studying hard, set aside some time every day for leisure activities like painting, playing an instrument, or even watching television. By giving yourself some “free time,” you’ll be more productive during your study time.

If you are having trouble reaching your study goals during medical assistant school, talk with a counselor at Mandl School, The College of Allied Health. In addition to evaluating your course load and telling you whether or not you are on track for graduation, counselors can also recommend academic tutors to help.
