Whether you’re a young Christian couple getting ready to begin your life together or a husband and wife whose 50-year marriage could use a fresh perspective, you can find what you need at the City of Refuge Christian Church in Waipahu, HI. This non-denominational church offers free marriage classes to all, based on the book “Love and Respect: The Love She Most Desires; The Respect He Desperately Needs” by Dr. Emerson Eggerichs.

Classes are held every Wednesday from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Each person or couple is responsible for buying their own copy of the book. Under the guidance of the City of Refuge Christian Church ministerial staff, you’ll use this book and its Bible-centered teachings to improve communication, heal rifts, and learn to give your spouse what they truly need in your marriage.

ChristianDr. Eggerichs’ book focuses on identifying the destructive cycles of conflict that are common in a marriage and providing techniques to escape those cycles, enumerating the ways spouses can show love and respect. With examples from his own life and the lives of those he teaches, Dr. Eggerichs illustrates how spouses can reach out to each other about their differences and communicate effectively. In addition to his insight and experience, Dr. Eggerichs draws heavily from the Bible. His teachings are rooted in faith and the desire to build up righteous Christian marriages.

Whether your marriage has hit a rough patch or you simply want to learn better ways to support your current or future spouse, attend a marriage class at City of Refuge Christian Church this Wednesday evening. Call (808) 677-5677 to learn more, or contact the church online.
