When it comes to water heaters, there are plenty of options on the market, but finding the perfect water heater to fit your unique needs and budget can be a challenge. That’s why so many people in North Franklin, CT, turn to James Carboni Plumbing & Heating. Known throughout the region for providing top-notch plumbing services, they specialize in helping customers find the right water heater.

Here are three common types of water heaters, explained by North Franklin’s favorite plumber.

1. Tankless Water Heater

This type of water heater does not have a storage tank. Instead, water is only heated when required. The system will heat water using either a gas burner or an electric system, depending on the model. Since tankless water heaters are wall-mounted, they are an excellent choice if you don’t have a lot of floor space. Keep in mind that while these water heaters reduce energy, but they are not ideal for heavy use.

2. Storage Water Heaters

water heaterStorage water heaters have a large tank. They keep a reserve of hot water available for immediate use. This type of water heater is typically less expensive to install. That being said, they do require more energy to keep your tank hot at all times.

3. Point-of-Use Water Heaters

A point-of-use heater is very specific. Instead of having one centralized unit where hot water is stored and pumped from, a point-of-use water heater will release hot water from one particular faucet. This type of water heater is great as an in-counter heater so you can easily dispense hot water for tea.

4.  High Efficiency Heat Pump Water Heaters

A heat pump water heater use electricity to move heat from one place to another instead of generating heat directly.  Therefore, they can be two to three times more energy efficient than conventional electric resistance water heaters.  To move the heat, heat pumps work like a refrigerator in reverse.

The Heat Pump Water heaters qualify for Smart E financing from Energize CT.
