3 Common Things People Ask About Drug Tests, Pecos, Texas

If you've been asked to undergo drug testing, you likely have some questions or concerns, especially if you've never been through the process before. Drug testing is generally a straightforward process, but there are some areas where it will go more smoothly if you're informed beforehand. If you need a drug test, contact Pecos Family Chiropractic & Drug Testing in TX, to schedule one.

Here are three ways to prepare for your drug test:

  • Food/Beverages: Although it's unusual, some foods, including poppyseed and hemp seed, can generate false positives for opiates or THC. Tonic water from mixed drinks the night before can impact your results as well; dietary supplements and common over-the-counter medications can also skew the results of your drug test. Any unavoidable medications, prescription, or over-the-counter, should be documented in your medical paperwork.
  • drug-testingWater: Some patients who go in for drug testing are worried about not being able to give an adequate sample. While it may seem like a good idea, don't drink excessive amounts of water before your test. If your sample is too dilute, you will have to give another one. It will save you the time and trouble to monitor your water intake and drink only as much as you normally would.
  • Documentation: The documentation you should bring to the appointment depends on the reason for your drug test. In general, the employer or other organization who requested the test will have a protocol in place. In addition to a valid photo ID, make sure you bring any forms or paperwork supplied by the organization requesting the drug test.

If you have any other questions, call Pecos Family Chiropractic & Drug Testing, or visit the drug testing page online. To schedule DOT physicals, FIT testing, or another type of appointment, call (432) 445-4878.
