Prince of Peace Lutheran Church is a Christian congregation in Honolulu dedicated to “reaching, preaching, and teaching the love of God in Jesus Christ.” The church will hold their annual congregational retreat on Jan. 14 to make plans for continuing their uplifting ministry to the diverse community of Waikiki.

At the upcoming retreat, members will have the opportunity to discuss and share input on strategic planning for 2017 and the next five years. The congregation will review and approve a budget for the coming year and take stock of its many discipleship programs to identify areas for improvement. In addition, a pastoral search committee will be convened to begin laying the groundwork for continuing the church’s mission after Reverend Yukio Hamada’s eventual retirement.

CongregationThe members of the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church community are also encouraging new members to join their congregation for the upcoming year to help the church extend its mission into the next few years and beyond. In addition to regular church services every Sunday at 10 a.m., Prince of Peace Lutheran Church hosts numerous programs, such as weekly Bible studies, social gatherings, lectures, and educational events. The congregation also has a history of charitable work in Honolulu and beyond, with outreach activities, service projects, food assistance for the needy, support for Christian missionary work abroad, and biblical literacy programs.
