drinking-waterThis is why the Regional Water Authority drinking water emergency notification system is so important. We’ll notify you via a phone call through our CodeRED system. The recorded messages are directed only to those affected or who might be at a higher risk of being affected by the emergency. We’ll continue sharing information until the emergency is no longer a threat. It’s the fastest and most effective way of alerting our customers of drinking water problems.

The database for CodeRED connects to the local phone directory. However, we encourage you to sign up for our notifications using your cell phone or unlisted landline numbers. Even if your community is served by CodeRED, you should still enroll with Regional Water Authority to ensure you receive our messages in a timely manner. Your contact information is confidential and will be used only in the context of notifying you of a public water emergency.

We all share the same goal: safe and reliable drinking water for the New Haven region. If you have questions, give us a call at (203) 562-4020. Take a virtual tour of our site, where you can see the facilities and explore the process we use to ensure safe drinking water for you and your family.
