mechanicPart of the joy of having your own car is being able to show off your skills maneuvering it. One of the most fun tricks you can do is known as a burnout, which originated in the drag racing world. According to the team at Dean's Automotive Service Center, a burnout is when your car stays still but all the wheels spin, generating heat that quickly turns the tires into to an awesome smoke storm.

In a manual, rear-wheel drive car, the initial step is to put your car into first gear. Rev your engine to a high RPM, release the clutch, and step on the brake and gas at the same time. This will cause your tires to spin rapidly and produce lots of smoke. You can end the burnout by moving off the accelerator and unlocking the brake. While a burnout is cinematic and fun, it should still be undertaken infrequently and with caution. The stunt will wear out your tires and brakes very rapidly, and it should never be done on public roads.

The next time you need assistance from a mechanic, reach out to Dean's Automotive Service Center. Call (907) 276-5731 to set up an appointment, and learn more about the auto repair shop by visiting their website.
