Let’s face it, working out can be boring. No one wants to do the same exercises every day just to stay in shape. Combining aspects like dance, flow, yoga and rhythm, Gyrokinesis is a three-dimensional exercise working the entire body that you will actually enjoy. Try this unique class at Kinespirit Gyrotonic, Pilates & Yoga for a dance and yoga exercise experience.

Now you can try Gyrokinesis for FREE during their Community Gyrokinesis Classes running every Monday and Thursday through September 20th. During this exercise class, you will learn how to mobilize the spine, build strength and flexibility, stimulate and energize the body, all while providing a complete workout.

Kinespirit it looking to spread the benefits of Gyrokinesis outside the studio and recently Kinespirit owner and Master Trainer, Jen Daly, taught Gyrokinesis to a group of 15 blind men and women at the Visions Center at Selis Manor on 23rd Street. She will be teaching Gyrokinesis on a volunteer basis at Selis Manor once a month ongoing.

Here is a look at Master Trainer, Chantal Deeble presenting Gyrokinesis on Regis and Kelly:

While holding true to the basic principles of Gyrotonic, the mat version Gyrokinesis doesn’t involve position holding or potential for energetic stagnation. There is a little bit of everything in one of these classes, encompassing cardiovascular exercise, muscle building, endurance, and flexibility. Better yet, this type of exercise can be done at home or in the office. While you may not notice benefits like spine mobilization and blood circulation, you will notice an improvement in coordination, extension, and overall energy. While you will be working the core muscles of your body, you will also enjoy a program that compliments traditional cardiovascular activity and cross training.

What can you expect during your first FREE Gyrokinesis class at Kinespirit?

As you enter your first class, you will begin in a seated position as you prepare your body and mind, with self-massage and simple breathing patterns. Progressing to bench work in a seated position, the class goes through a series of fluid movements to mobilize the spine. This includes movements like arching, curling, bending, twisting, and spiraling. Proceed down to the floor for a set of positions, including kneeling, seated, and standing. Focusing on joint and muscle groups like the hips, knees, hamstrings, and abdominals, Gyrokinesis will help strengthen the entire body. Corresponding breathing patterns stimulate the nervous system and oxygenate the blood. As you advance in these classes, you will add in endurance training and more challenging activities.
