Even Better Than A Cabin

I love thinking about one day having a cabin. Maybe use some of my dad’s oak boards for flooring. The cabin would be rustic. I imagine the oak floors being rough cut and maybe the foot traffic smoothing it down a bit over time. Put some tongue oil on it to keep it from staining if wine should spill on it. We’d have to get a dog because you need one if you have a cabin.

The kids and grandchildren would be there every weekend (actually I have been told they’re too busy to come all the time) and we’d all sleep all over the floor. But we would all be together. Our friends would come also. We’d get up and do a hike and go have lunch at a cozy cafe. After that we would go on a second hike before having spaghetti back at the cabin.

But, what I really think longingly about is heaven. I can’t wait to experience it. Jesus promised us that it is even better than a cabin with rough cut oak flooring. It is even better than having your grandchildren spread all over the floor in sleeping bags when you get up to make coffee. How can you beat that! Jesus made promises when He walked this earth. He never goes back on His promises. God has shown us His goodness in fulfilled prophecy. The fact that Christ was raised from the dead is plainly evident when tested against the undeniable fulfillment of Old Testament prophecies. If you want the statistics on fulfilled prophecy, read my book: FATHER Football We know from His Word He loves us beyond our comprehension, and He’s going on ahead of us to prepare a place for us to be with Him in glory.

Thus: Heaven is so sure, its richness and joy can be celebrated today … even in death. “But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved—and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.” Ephesians 2:4-7

If you want to know more about how Jesus loves you and died for you and me, I have written a Christian book for you. It’s called FATHER Football Xs & Os Hugs and Kisses. You can get it now at Amazon Books. Just search for Thomas Opsahl at Amazon Books.
