Part of what makes the World of Knowledge Child Development Center different from other child care services is their approach to teaching children using a variety of methods. The Lincoln, NE-based child care center uses their in-depth knowledge of child development and learning styles to craft a curriculum that meets the needs of every student rather than catering to just one type of learner.

According to the talented instructors from the World of Knowledge Child Development Center, there are three primary learning styles and three secondary learning styles commonly found in young children. The primary learning styles are visual, auditory, and kinesthetic. Visual learners have an enhanced learning experience when instructors make use of a lot of visual aids and examples. Auditory learners are best at retaining and understanding information when they have the freedom to simply listen and take things in. Kinesthetic learners find that it’s easiest to learn when there are hands-on projects to guide them along. Of course, many children are a combination of two or even all three types of learners, but identifying the primary way a child learns goes a long way towards reaching them in the classroom.

At a young age, verbal learners enjoy learning through storytelling, and as they get older they tend to be the type of student who enjoys reading and writing for both creative and educational purposes. Kids who are highly logical often develop an aptitude for math and science when they get older, but when they’re young they tend to enjoy things like identifying patterns and working through problems using critical thinking. Social learners, as you’ve probably guessed, tend to learn best in groups. They find solitary study boring but feel energized when working with their peers or one-on-one with an instructor.

The child development professionals from the World of Knowledge Child Development Center use their awareness of learning personality types to inform the way they present content to their students. They believe the best way to nurture a lifelong love of learning and education is to teach through each child’s strengths. To learn more about the World of Knowledge Child Development Center and the amazing work they do, call (402) 483-4769 or visit them online today.
