A ten-time Pinetop Perkins (formerly W.C. Handy) Best of Blues Instrumentalist Award nominee, Butler brings his vivid, inquisitive personality to every performance. HENRY BUTLER'S impeccable skills and distinguished career have inspired countless audiences, making him the premier exponent of the New Orleans jazz & blues piano tradition. As an entertainer with deep philosophical and cultural roots, he has also conducted workshops, clinics and master classes throughout the country.
In addition to HENRY BUTLER'S amazing talents, the One World Brooklyn Kids Chorus welcomes a line-up of top flight performers. Beloved jazz and gospel singer, Janis Russell and director of the famed Lafayette Inspirational Ensemble says, “I am very excited to be invited to join the One World Brooklyn Kids Chorus with my colleague, revered jazz vocalist, Carla Cook, in a song that embodies the spirit of friendship and fellowship.”
In addition, the One World Brooklyn Kids Chorus will be joined by composer-in-residence Lisa Gutkin, a Grammy award-winning fiddler, singer and song writer, and member of the famed Klezmatics, Ms. Gutkin will perform one of her most popular compositions as well as some surprise favorites. A respected colleague of Ms. Gutkin, Eva Salina, a singer and teacher specializing in the vocal traditions of Eastern Europe and the Balkans will perform as well.
