Okay, perhaps we are jumping the gun here, but before you know it warm sunny days are going to become a regular pattern on the east coast. When that time does come, you’ll want to be ready! That’s why now is the time to start thinking about what needs to be done to prepare your pool for summer swimming. Gutierrez Pool Plastering offers a wide variety of services for pool installation and maintenance that will ensure your pool is ready for that first day above 80 degrees.

If you’re in need of pool renovations in New Jersey, Gutierrez Pool Plastering is the company to call. But in the meantime, here are a few tips to follow to get your pool swim ready:

  • Take care of the cover. Your pools cover has been on for a solid 6-7 months at this point, collecting leaves and gunk. To remove the dirty water from the top of your pool, you can use a pump. Once the cover is clean you can remove it, folding it back as you go from the shallow to deep end. Once the cover is off, make sure to properly store it away so it doesn’t become damaged during the summer.
  • Now it’s time for the pool. Double check to make sure the pump and filter are working properly. Check any concrete or fiberglass for cracks, and clean off any calcium scale or stains. Next, fill the pool with water to the middle of the waterline tile to clean away any debris. Finish it all off by using a pool vacuum.
  • Just one more step to go. Start up your filter and let it run for 12-24 hours before adding in any chemicals. Then get out your pool testing kit and check the chlorine content, PH level, alkalinity, and the hardness of the calcium. Use a shock treatment to get rid of any remaining algae and microorganisms. Test again in 24 hours just to be sure.

It doesn’t take much to set up your pool for summer, but it will take a little effort to maintain in. Swim at your leisure, and as soon as summer hits, with pool renovation services from Gutierrez Pool Plastering.
