Event Information

Interested in competing in a golf tournament? On October 21 and 22, Waikoloa Village Golf Club in Hawaii is hosting their annual amateur golf tournament. Open to players of all experience levels, the event offers golfers an opportunity to spend the weekend playing on their beautiful greens, socialize with other participants, and compete for placement. You will also get the chance to enjoy unbelievable views of the Kohala Coast and the area’s five volcanoes.

The Waikoloa Village Annual Amateur Golf Tournament has been an important event on the Big Island for years now. Back in 2014, 84 local residents and visiting golfers participated in hopes of placing and receiving a variety of awards, including a set of Taylor Made Tour Preferred MB irons.

imageThat year, there were beautiful playing conditions with low winds and moderate temperatures. The Trade Winds picked up on the final day, but participants stuck it out and ended up finishing the tournament off on a good note. Doug Oki of Hilo was awarded first prize.

There are plenty of reasons to sign up for the tournament this year. The weather tends to be fantastic in Hawaii during October, and if this year is anything like the previous two, conditions will be great for golfing. Additionally, this golf course is the second oldest on the island; it has a great reputation among locals and visitors alike. Finally, since this tournament is for amateurs, there’s no pretense or exclusivity that one may expect to find at another event.

If you’re interested in enrolling, visit the Waikoloa Village Golf Club’s website by October 13 to sign up. You can also call their office directly at (808) 883-9621.
