Pennsylvania is a beautiful state with many sights to visit. If you’re in the New Columbia area, there are many places you don’t want to miss while there. Local discount hotel, Quality Inn, shares five things that you and your family should see when you stay with them.

If you’re in the New Columbia area, be sure to visit these places:

  • Susquehanna River:  The longest river on the east coast that empties into the Atlantic Ocean, locals and tourists alike enjoy kayaking, canoeing, and motor-boating along the waterway every year. The beautiful landscape is a great way to relax and take in nature while you stay.
  • Knoebels Amusement Park: Fun for the whole family for 90 years, Knoebels Amusement Park features kiddie-sized rides, fun attractions, thrill rides, and rollercoasters. The park also has a carousel and games as well as a train ride and museums, such as the bald eagle habitat. Take a break for a round of mini golf or watch live demonstrations from the Black Smith and Lost Logger. The park even has a mini water park for those hot summer days and special events such as their Annual Doggie Dive Event.
  • Discount HotelClyde Peeling’s Reptileland:  This zoo is more than a place to gaze at exotic animals. It’s an educational experience for everyone. Check out reptiles and amphibians in their natural habitats. The snake collection is vast, including mambas, cobras, vipers, and other rare snakes. The year-round exhibits offer a look at more than 40 species, with both indoor and outdoor exhibits depending on the season. Don’t forget the Dinosaurs Come to Life animatronic dinosaur adventure!
  • Slifer House Museum: This gorgeous Italianate mansion, built by Eli Slifer prior to the Civil War, is a beautiful landmark filled with history. Once a grand estate home, the property also served as an orphanage and a nursing care facility. Now a museum, the home has been restored and is filled with artifacts from the Civil War and Victorian era. Family heirlooms can also be viewed during their tours and exhibits.
  • Little League Baseball Museum: The World of Little League: Peter J. McGovern Museum and Official Store offers interactive exhibits and artifacts from the sport’s long history. The museum houses a one-of-a-kind uniform worn in 1934 by baseball legend Babe Ruth. With six galleries to explore and a souvenir shop, visitors of all ages can enjoy the rich history of Little League that has become a staple of American culture and 80 countries worldwide.
