Dear Family, Friends, and Colleagues
Wilbur and I began our initiative BADA (Black Accessory Designers Alliance ) with the objective of empowering black and minority emerging accessory designers by providing a platform for them to garner media attention and sell their wares. Black and minority designers typically lack the funding and business connections that usually leads to financial success.
Since BADA's inception in 2015, we have hosted pop-up shops over the last two seasons of NY Fashion Week where members of the media, influential bloggers and guests mingled and shopped. We were thrilled to catch the eye of the fashion industry trade magazine, Women's Wear Daily, that twice featured BADA and its participating designers in their fashion week overview!
We are grooming a new generation of talent for fashion success as we have accepted students from the High School of Fashion Industries into our brand new summer internship program. We are planning many other programs that will provide valuable opportunities for our sisters and brothers in accessory design, but we need your help.
In order to facilitate further visibility of the community we serve, we are requesting donations to be used for incorporating BADA and securing our non-profit (501c3) status. Your donations are not only greatly appreciated, but support a worthwhile cause, too. There is no donation too small (or too large) and we also welcome anyone who would like to volunteer their time to the BADA Village.
You can click the link provided below to make your donation electronically. But we ask that you please make all donations by Thursday, August 4 so that we can seamlessly move forward with plans and programming for 2017. If you'd like to know more or want to make a donation in person, please feel free to contact us at email@example.com.
The link to make electronic donations is paypal.me/BADA1
Thank you for your time and support. We look forward to seeing you at our NY Fashion Week event on Tuesday evening, September 13, 2016.
