Only a couple of weeks ago, Orlando was witness to a horrific act of violence and hatred, one that is almost beyond comprehension or understanding. And yet in such bleak times, there continue to be examples of humanity and love that trounce these mindless hate-crimes. The outpouring of support from citizens and organizations all over the country has demonstrated the remarkable way people band together to combat the depravity of such destruction.
Stand Up NY wants to join the movement to aid the recovery efforts in Orlando by hosting a comedy show to benefit the National Compassion Fund. The Fund will donate 100% of its proceeds to the victims and survivors of the Orlando shooting at Pulse. The organization aims to work as transparently as possible, ensuring that all donations received are used effectively. For more information, please visit their website at http://nationalcompassionfund.org/.
The show will be held on Wednesday, June 29 at 10:15 p.m. and will feature six different comedians, including Judy Gold. Tickets may be purchased online here, or by making a reservation online (choose “Purchase at Door” option). Because space is limited for this one-time event, we suggest you make your reservations ahead of time.
We hope you will spread this news and join us. Thank you for your time; we hope to see you Wednesday!
