We have so many wonderful customers.  Being the All Temperature Systems, Inc. spokes penguin, I thought I would get out and about and visit.

My first visit to Foundations For Living at 1421 Churchill Street in Waupaca. What a great afternoon! We were invited on “Family Friday”. Judi and Michele came along for our adventure.

When I came into the building I was greeted warmly by Jan.  It was good to see Jan. She was a member of the All Temp Team for many years. In fact, she gave me my name, Frosty Phil!  I was given a tour and got to experience some of the really neat things they do there. I was excited to wear my Visitors Badge!

One of the first stops was the Community Closet. What a great place to shop and support the ministry. They have wonderful staff helping take care of the customers. I had fun shopping with the help of staff member Keenan. He was good-humored when he did find me in the sock bin.

Hats! Hats! Way fun…Judi was a good sport letting me try on hats! My favorite was the HOT ROD hat

All this fun really had a greater purpose. Foundations for Living was really all about helping out Humans in our community. Darla Rae took time to show me how she gets to know the people.  I thought I would stump her about asking for an igloo for homeless Penguins. To my surprise, she said she could arrange it. (She had igloo plans from her adventures in Alaska!)  So far my job is secure here at All Temperature Systems, Inc., but it’s a good feeling that Darla Rae would be there for me. imageimage

Some of our community members just need a little help. One way is to share in personal care items. Foundations For Living stock a “Care and Share” closet. I was overjoyed to see the generosity and hope it continues.image

imageMost importantly, some just need a safe place to sleep. Did you know that Foundations For Living provided 329 safe sleeping options from November 8, 2015 to April 25, 2016.  I was able to test a cot. Mighty comfy! I would have napped longer, but it was lunch time.

Lunch was awesome. After prayers, we all got to eat and share.

Every Friday they read a bucket that is full of encouraging words for staff and volunteers. Each person (and penguin) got to read three notes. I couldn’t agree with mine more.  What a great place!
