Mini-split systems feature the highest seasonal energy efficiency ratings (SEER) in the industry (ranging from 16 to 30 SEER!), which makes them a perfect fit for environmentally and budget minded home and business owners.  These high SEER ratings are achieved by the use of “Inverter” compressors.  Unlike traditional AC systems that can only run at their rated BTU capacity, regardless if it is 75° or 107° outside, the inverter compressor allows for a wide range of BTU capacity which means you get just the right amount of cooling needed.  Mini-splits to have  longer run cycles than traditional systems, which contributes to high efficiency and produces a greater humidity removal.  This is key, as significantly reducing the amount of times the system cycles on and off saves tremendously. (Example: A system that starts and stops 5 times within an hour consumes as much energy as a similar system that runs constantly for 2 hours).

An additional benefit that the majority of mini-split systems now offer is a “heat pump” function.  A heat pump utilizes a switching valve in the condenser (outside unit) that reverses the flow of the Freon gas and provides an alternative source of heat at efficiencies of up to 350%.  Oddly enough, mini-splits are often more efficient in heating mode than they are in cooling.  However, it is important to note that mini-splits are not a year round heating solution for our climate, yet.  Because the system uses the heat in the outside air to warm the condenser coil, the system quickly loses its efficiency and ability to provide adequate heat once outdoor temperatures have fallen below 25°.  While there are several systems currently available that are capable of producing sufficient heat at outdoor temperatures as low as -15°, it will still be several years before mini-splits can be claimed as a year round heating option for Wisconsin.

Make an informed choice. Not all mini-split heating and cooling products carry the same warranty. The product knowledge of the All Temperature Systems Team can you help you find the solution that best fits your  budget.

Location of equipment options vary. Some units hang on the wall, against the ceiling or in concealed ducts. Placement helps take advantage of the quiet operation of a mini-split system.  A greater knowledge of heating and cooling principals guarantees your choices of systems is the right system for the job.

With 24/7 emergency repair service, annual checkup schedules and helpful preventative maintenance tips, you can rest assured that their dedicated technicians will be there when you need them most. Call All Temperature Systems at (715) 258-8501, or visit the website for more information.
