New York, New York –On Thursday, December 6th, Touro College Graduate School of Technology is inviting guest speaker Leonard Steinmetz to speak to students of Professor Robert Klein’s Master of Science Information Systems course “Leadership in the IT Organization.”
As the previous VP IT and Chief Information Officer of XTRA Lease, a Berkshire-Hathaway Company, Leonard Steinmetz has a wealth of experience in the world of Information Systems and advice to impart upon students of MSIS 611. Steinmetz’s topic of choice for the discussion is highly topical and relevant to the current economic climate: managing IT in a turn-around company.
Innovation is key, as Steinmetz will explain to students. It’s very possible to innovate and move a company forward in technology, even during challenging times. By managing from the bottom up, flattening the organization hierarchy, and introducing flexibility in time horizons and system roll-out locations, those in IT can reach their business goals despite the challenges.
"Leadership in the IT Organization," taught by Professor Robert Klein, allows students to meet with real technology leaders in New York City, providing practical experience that gives those training for a career in Information Systems an edge among the competition. Students enrolled in Touro College Graduate School of Technology’s master programs can experience similar guest presentations throughout their academic career.
