Alumni of the Touro College Graduate School of Technology have access in a world of career options as a result of the school’s three cutting-edge continuing education programs: Master of Science in Information Systems, Master of Science in Instructional Technology, and Master of Arts in Web & Multimedia Design.
As the Fall 2013 semester approaches, Touro College puts the spotlight on three successful alumni in the hopes of inspiring this year’s new class of graduate students. This week, learn about how alumnus Ben Lamm, a graduate of the Master of Science in Information Systems program, used Touro College’s excellent student resources to find a successful job as a Front End Developer.
- Describe your Touro College Experience.Going to GST has helped by giving me access to professors with real life experience and quality classes that taught relevant skills.
- How has Touro College Education Helped in Your Career? My current job is primarily focused on Front End development so the DB skills I acquired are not needed every day. However, recently we were implementing some big changes to our company’s systems and we needed to perform a test to check that certain actions on the front end were triggering specific updates to the database. With the SQL skills I learned at GST, I was able to quickly put together a complex query that gave us the exact info we were looking for.
- Which Touro College GST Classes Were Most Valuable For You?Professor Muskopf's Project Management course and Professor Lunzer’s Strategic Management course were both invaluable to my career in more ways than I can count. Of all the courses I took, those two will still be with me in 20 years from now.
- How did Touro College’s Career Services Help You?The staff at Career services were the ones who got me my job interview. I owe it all to them. They went out and found great opportunities for me.
As a graduate of the Master of Science in Information Systems program, Ben Lamm has an entire arsenal of technology skills to serve him well in all of his future career endeavors.
