Touro College Graduate School of Technology (GST) proudly admits international students to their Master’s-level degree programs every year. These educational opportunities offer international students the skills, tools, and technologies necessary for leadership in a fast-growing industry. The graduate school recently interviewed three international graduates to gain valuable insight into their experience not just at the graduate school, but in New York City.
The following is a summary of what alumni Loucas Karipis, Jing Qian, and Marach Treekunprapa had to say about their experiences at Touro GST:
- Loucas Karipis, Graduate, Master of Science in Information Systems
Loucas Karipis came to Touro GST from Cyprus. He chose the graduate school for its specialized program in Information Systems, as well as the affordable tuition. Now a resident of Queens, Loucas recalls his Advanced Data Communications class, which distinguishes itself as an incredible experience thanks to the wealth of knowledge of Professor Behrooz Khorsandi. Overall, Loucas’s experience afforded him an essential education in theory, networking, and powerful research skills. Loucas leaves potential students with these words: “If you are motivated to learn and enhance your career, GST is a good place to be.”
- Jing Qian, Graduate, Master of Arts in Web & Multimedia Design
Jing Qian is a native of Shanghai, who specializes in E-Commerce, including website design and development. Jing found the graduate school’s Web and Mobile Application course particularly engaging, and has gone on to build an Android app at her current position. In addition to application development, Jing explains how her post-graduate work has benefited from the web and graphic design skills she acquired, saying “I would recommend the WMM program to my friends who are interested in design.” She favors the program not only for the hands-on skills she acquired, but the helpful engaged professors, kind people, and location with tons of opportunity.
- Marach Treekunprapa, Graduate, Master of Arts in Web & Multimedia Design
After completing an industrial engineering program at Sirindhorn International Institute of Technology, Pathumthani, Thailand native Marach Treekunprapa was inspired to further his education in multimedia design in order to both teach and work in the technology industry. He found Touro GST’s holistic approach perfect for the integration of his established skill set and motivation to learn more. Today, his career path is bolstered by an advanced knowledge of HTML and CSS, saying that his experience at Touro GST, “[It] gave me the confidence that I can transition into the design field with ease.” For prospective students, Marach has a few words of advice; a willingness to work hard and take your work seriously goes a long way at the graduate school.
