It’s no secret that Stand Up NY loves Tracy Morgan. Following his serious car accident in 2014, the team at Stand Up NY fiercely hoped that their fellow comedian would make a strong recovery—and he has! Now the hilarious actor is kicking off his first tour since the accident, and the team Stand Up NY can't wait for his bright light to shine! Located on Manhattan’s Upper West Side, Stand Up NY is known for its supportive environment, welcoming open mic nights, and memorable comedy shows. When it comes to cheering for a fellow comedian, this comedy club brings only the best.
On June 7th, 2014, Tracy’s life was changed forever when a Wal-Mart truck crashed into his limousine. The crash killed Tracy’s close friend, James McNair, also a fellow comedian, and put Tracy in a coma for two weeks. After Tracy regained consciousness, he also had to recover from broken bones and brain trauma.
So after a long, painful, and courageous road to recovery, Tracy Morgan is going back on the road! His four-month tour titled “Picking Up the Pieces” launched on Feb. 5 and travels across the country and Canada. Just before his tour kicked off, Tracy gave a phenomenal performance at Stand Up NY. Now that his tour has begun, the Stand Up NY staff feels grateful to be able to share and celebrate this good news with the world.
