Are you ready to fly? What better place to have a once-in-a-lifetime experience than over the stunning views of Oahu’s North Shore. Pacific Skydiving Center, Hawaii’s best skydiving center in Waialua, HI, explains what happens on your first tandem skydive.

Tandem skydiving is where you’re harnessed to your skydiving instructor, so they do all the work while you get to enjoy the rush of the experience! When you choose Pacific Skydiving Center, you’re jumping with the best—their instructors are licensed and have experienced thousands of jumps safely.

Once you decide to take the leap and experience your first tandem skydive, you should make a reservation with Pacific Skydiving Center by calling or visiting their website. You must be 18 years old (and provide a valid photo ID) and under 240 pounds in order to skydive. There is no deposit—you pay after you jump.

In order to prepare for the dive, you should wear loose-fitting clothes and snug shoes (no flip-flops). Pacific Skydiving Center recommends long shorts, tennis shoes, and a t-shirt. Be sure to remember to eat beforehand, and bring food and drinks to snack on while you wait at the drop zone.

When you first arrive at Pacific Skydiving Center, you’ll watch a safety video and sign a waiver. You will then meet your experienced skydiving instructor and be given jump instructions. The jump usually takes one to three hours, but can take a full day, depending on weather conditions and other factors. Pacific Skydiving Center will do everything in their power to ensure you have an amazing experience up in the sky, but they'll only work within the highest safety standards and legal requirements.

When you’re finally jumping out of the plane with your instructor, you’ll free fall at about 120 mph. Most people describe the experience as feeling like you are flying or floating. It’s extremely exhilarating, yet calming. The free fall is something you’ll never forget! Tandem skydiving landings are usually very smooth and soft.
