The heart plays a bigger role this month than a motif on valentines—it’s the very core of American Heart Month. All February long, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and passionate nonprofit organizations like Northern KY Emergency Medical Services in Fort Thomas, KY, are raising awareness of heart health. Northern KY Emergency Medical Services is taking its efforts a step further by offering heart health training sessions that promise to save lives.

Did you know two out of three victims of sudden cardiac arrest can be saved if cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) is performed or an automated external defibrillator (AED) is used within four to six minutes? At the Northern KY Emergency Medical Services training center, you can learn these valuable lifesaving techniques. The health emergency training at Northern KY Emergency Medical Services includes instruction on how to use an AED, how to properly perform CPR, and the opportunity to earn certifications from the American Heart Association and the American Safety and Health Institute. Not only will others depend on you in an emergency situation, but you’ll also know exactly how to assist a cardiac arrest victim in a calm and safe manner.

In addition to CPR and AED training, Northern KY Emergency Medical Services offers a variety of other classes that benefit people at schools, workplaces, health centers, and other everyday environments. Health training includes first aid certification, OSHA training, first responder instruction, and more. They also offer cardiac screening.

Celebrate American Heart Month by learning lifesaving skills at Northern KY Emergency Medical Services. To sign up for health training, call (859) 572-4511, or visit the website today.
