If you're looking for a gym that's crawling with bro-y, unfriendly, competitive, unhelpful athletes who take no interest in your personal life and disregard you entirely if you don't have 4% body fat and a 400 lb front squat, Bombers isn't your gym.

I'm not a natural athlete. Never have been. I was that kid that actually tried to get hit during dodgeball so I could be out of the game and watch safety from the sidelines. So you can understand my wariness of crossfit and the "cult mentality" that makes it so easy to make fun of on social media. But wandering in those doors one afternoon last fall (knowing no one or nothing about crossfit) was one of the best happenstance events of my life.

Me before Bombers: bony, underweight, with no muscle tone due to unhealthy restrictive eating, no knowledge of how to do anything with a bar, couldn't do one push up. Terrible lack of confidence in my coordination, body, and athletic abilities.

Now? I've become so much more confident in myself both athletically and as a person. I eat more. I can do RX pull-ups, push ups, and even pistols (on one leg, that is. Still working on the other leg). I had to buy all new pants because of my quad gains.

But most importantly? I've made some of the best friends I've ever had. The coaches at Bombers are incredibly kind, personable, and approachable. They WILL do whatever it takes to help you succeed. They're motivating, affirming, and just downright good people.

Bottom line: It doesn't matter what your level of fitness is. Don't think you can't do crossfit because you're not at a "certain point." You CAN. And Bombers is the place to do it. Just show up.  -- Katie B.
