About International Children’s Care

Bringing Orphans New Life

Founded in 1978, International Children’s Care aims to bring aid to homeless, defenseless children who are in need of emotional, physical, mental and spiritual support. This internationally recognized non-governmental organization was first founded to help children in Guatemala following what was a disastrous earthquake, however, later it was acknowledged that humanitarian work was broadly needed in many other places in the world.

When taking care of orphaned children, providing food and shelter is not enough; it is rather crucial to give constant love, respect and protection to them. That’s why International Children’s Care designed and set in motion a unique program which places children in individual homes, located in small acreages. Couples from the local community area are chosen to carry out the parent's role for each group of children, thus forming a family. This enables children to comprehend how to socialize and carry out a normal life.

The team at International Children’s Care understands that education is the foundation upon which a child's future is built, which is why the elementary schools operate on the organization’s grounds. A specialized school program is employed and customized to meet the orphaned child’s needs. High school education is provided, all the way on to college.

At the core of the International Children’s Care are the traditional Christian principles, with the Bible as the basis for this organization’s guiding standards. Their team is well aware of the importance of quality in the children’s life and the potential of each one of them to reflect the image of God.
