John Cortapasso has a BS in Accounting from Hunter College and has done Graduate work in Finance at Pace University. John is also a CFP, Certified Financial Planner, since completing his course work at American College in 2000.

Early in his career, John was a Credit Analyst at Dunn & Bradstreet and a Municipal Bond Analyst with Moody's Investor Service. John was a municipal bond salesman at Stoever, Glass & Company before becoming and an Investment Consultant at Shearson Lehman Hutton. For more than 10 years, John was the Managing Director of Sales, Registered Principal and partner at Monarch Financial before joining Janney Montgomery Scott, LLC in 2010.

John resides on Long Island with his wife and three children. He has been an active volunteer fireman with the Bellerose Fire Department since 1987. He just completed two year term as Chief of the Bellerose Volunteer Fire Department.

John is the former Vice President of the Stewart Manor-Bellerose Little League and had coached both baseball and basketball for more than ten years.
