This holiday season,  Kona Community Hospital in Kealakekua, HI, is once again encouraging everyone to get in the giving spirit. This hospital offers health care and services to the West Hawaii community in more ways than one, and donating to Toys for Tots is the latest way that staff and patients can give back.

Here's what you need to know about Kona Hospital's effort to make valuable contributions to the community it serves:

  • The Drive Starts On December 1 & Ends December 20: For almost the entire month of December, you can support children in the community by bringing in toys, books, and other gifts to kids who are less fortunate. Every child should feel like the holiday season is a time when their wishes come true.
  • Toys For Tots Is Top-Rated: This program is highly regarded because unlike other charities, 97% of donations go directly to their mission. Less than 3% is put towards overhead costs and fundraising.
  • New, Unwrapped Toys Wanted: Please bring unused toys that are still in their packaging (but unwrapped) to donation boxes located throughout the hospital. Even one item is greatly appreciated.

Kona Hospital has served West Hawaii for almost 100 years with surgical services, rehabilitation, and more, and they will continue to do so for decades to come. The well-being of everyone in the community is a priority, and Kona Community Hospital gives back through both their health care and services and charitable giving. To contact the hospital, visit them online or call (808) 322-9311.
