Foreclosures??? Am I game for this??
A foreclosure can be a great way to get more house for the dollar, but you must do your due-diligence through the process. When I was a divorced young mother of 3, I bought a VA foreclosed home that had not been lived in for over a year! Fortunately I can see through what is there to visualize what it can be so I knew this was the perfect home for my little family!! It needed new carpet, wallpaper stripped off and fresh paint everywhere, new shutters outside and landscaping, plus a deck on the back.
All this amounted to some hard work and about $2500. I had to get the utilities turned on so the home could be inspected. (this was pre-home inspector days, but it had not been occupied ((in North Alabama)) so I just knew we needed to check the pipes!!) All went well with inspections so I made my offer which was more than my dad recommended. "Daddy, they will NEVER take that amount!" I exclaimed! A fluke in the paperwork and we had to do the offer again, so this time I listened to my dad and I got it for just what he said, absolutely amazing!!!!! He gave me the cash to make it a cash offer, so it was simple and quick and my little family had a great new home. All we had to do was fix some rotten wood around the front door and replace the carpet and we could move. The rest could be done as we got around to it!!
Foreclosures--not for everyone! But my foreclosure was a fabulous deal for my little family!! What about yours?? If this is something you would like to know more about, give me a call at 601-613-6813 and we can sit down and discuss just what all is involved!!
