Arthur Reel Studio, led by multi-disciplined theatrical artist Arthur Reel, is a home for talented and diligent entertainers looking to refine and develop their communication and acting skills. Actors, dancers, musicians, and singers all benefit from the communication training at the studio, all of whom work with a diverse group of peers and instructors to develop a wide array of performance techniques. Unlike many traditional acting schools, Arthur Reel Studio also puts together fine arts shows, giving students the chance to apply their exercises and skills into a live performance.
The shows, which premiered throughout the holiday season, included:
- The Cuban Affair: a dark comedy by Andrew Comba. Starring: Andrew Comba, Natasha Kaplan, Aaron Kelly, Lauri Lee, Richard Presutti, Caroline Rizzo
- The Garden: a romantic comedy by Kingsley Dougherty. Starring: Lauri Lee, Richard Presutti, Caroline Rizzo
- Gauguin’s Pearl: a dramatic monologue written and directed by Patricia Anderson
The actors in each performance were students of Arthur Reel Studio, many of who are not actors by profession. Most who participated had full day jobs, working from 9:00 a.m.to 5:00 p.m. The directors and writers of each were longtime students of the studio looking for a constructive way to develop their creative work.
With such a diverse group of talent, all directed and spearheaded by the experienced artists, Arthur Reel Studio is a valuable community resource for performers seeking improvement in their acting techniques.
