Last year Shanghai Mobile Kitchen Solutions (MKS) worked with Drive Change, a startup mobile food truck that hires, trains, and empowers formerly incarcerated youths. Together they created Snowday, a maple syrup themed food truck that sells pancake poppers, maple pulled pork, and much more. With the help of supporters, Snowday served over 1,000 hungry customers in its first seven days on the road. This is no small feat for a new food truck, as many struggle to gain traction. The many Facebook posts, tweets, and word-of-mouth mentions helped Snowday change lives, empower its workers, and feed plenty of eager New York foodies.

While donations are welcome to help keep Snowday running, social media is just as vital to the food truck’s success. Drive Change encourages you to take to your Facebook or Twitter account and spread the good word about Snowday. Tell your friends about Snowday’s delicious menu options, which include their Little Skievers, sandwiches, salads, and maple snow cones.

Follow Snowday on Twitter at @SnowdayTruck to see where they’re parked around New York City. You’ll find the food truck every Thursday evening in the DUMBO Lot at Jay & Water Streets in Brooklyn. And if you’re heading to Governor’s Island to cool off this summer, don’t forget that Snowday can be found there too!

With more social media and word-of-mouth mentions, the Snowday food truck is sure to be a success. Help Drive Change empower lives and feed New York City’s finest by visiting the Snowday truck with your friends and family.
