October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and Main Street Radiology in Queens, New York is dedicated to supporting everyone who has been diagnosed with and treated for the disease. With that, here are seven female musicians who battled—and beat—breast cancer:

• Folk singer Nanci Griffith was diagnosed in 1996.
• Singer/songwriter Carly Simon was diagnosed in 1997.
• Singer, guitarist, and activist Melissa Etheridge was diagnosed in 2004.
• Aussie pop star Kylie Minogue was diagnosed in 2005.
• Country/alternative singer Sheryl Crow was diagnosed in 2006.
• English pop and rock singer Marianne Faithfull was diagnosed in 2007.
