Holmen American Legion Post 284 salutes its veterans. The Morris Snuggerud post serves the Holmen, WI, community in the western part of the state near the Lake Onalaska and Minnesota state line. The veteran's organization is open to the public and benefits the community in a number of ways, by mentoring youth, sponsoring local programs and organizations (including the Kornfest carnival that Post 284 hosts annual), supporting military personnel, and veterans, and more.

The facility itself is also quite versatile. As a venue open to the public, Holmen American Legion Post 284 most often operates as a local restaurant and bar/tavern that offers daily lunch specials in addition to its full regular menu. The restaurant serves traditional American fare like burgers and fries from 11 a.m.- 6 p.m. on Mondays, as well as from 11 a.m.- 8 p.m. on Tuesdays through Fridays. Additionally, legionnaires rent out Post 284 as a reception hall, banquet faculty, meeting room, and even a wedding venue.

One upcoming special that Holmen American Legion Post 284 just announced is a Friday Fish Fry for legionnaires and members of the Holmen community. Every Friday, Holmen American Legion Post 284 turns its serious, yet charitable organization into a fun atmosphere for all, serving up hot battered goodness in two, three, and four-piece dinners.

The Holmen branch of the American Legion is committed to serving all members of its community. Veterans seeking advice, assistance, and support are encouraged to call (608) 526-4444 to speak with a chapter member. And community members looking for a hearty meal at the restaurant can also call or visit Holmen American Legion Post 284 online for more information.
