The crisp autumn weather has arrived and with it the majestic reds, oranges, and yellows of the transforming foliage. A Sunday drive is much more fun when colorful leaves set the scene. The folks at Charlotte AutoFair, an auto show featuring hot collector cars and antique cars, know all about scenic drives. The team behind Charlotte’s favorite auto show is here with some tips on planning your own fall foliage tour on the East Coast:

  • New England: Each of the six New England states (Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Rhode Island, Connecticut, and Massachusetts) offer winding country roads and vibrant views.
  • New York State: The Hudson River Valley is a must-visit for any serious fan of fall colors, not to mention the Adirondacks, the Finger Lakes, and the Catskills. Add some hiking to the mix for a fun and relaxing weekend.
  • New Jersey & Pennsylvania: You’ll want to make sure you make time for pumpkin and apple picking in between gawking at the gorgeous colors you’ll see in Pennsylvania's Bucks County, Lancaster County, or perhaps the Whitesbog Village.
  • Mid-Atlantic: Head to the Blue Ridge Parkway, which spans 469 miles between Virginia and North Carolina. Thanks to Mt. Mitchell in the western part of North Carolina, which is the highest mountain on the East Coast, you’ve got a spectacular place from which to view the colorful trees that make up Pisgah National Forest.
