The Vendy Awards are a cook-off event during which food truck finalists dish up their best menu items for all the self-proclaimed foodies in attendance. Food will be judged by an expert panel and the winning dish will receive an award for its category.

Since Vendy finalists are selected by public nomination, this competition and these awards are considered the highest acclaim in the food truck industry. As a matter of fact, the Shanghai-built Nuchas truck won the People’s Choice award back in 2014.

The 11^th Annual Vendy Awards will be held on Saturday, September 12^th at Governors Island from 12:30 p.m. - 5 p.m. The event doubles as a fundraiser with proceeds going to support The Street Vendor Project, which aims to protect the rights and interests of street vendors throughout the city.
