CrossFit Hawaii Kai understands that in order to build your body up to your desired fitness level, you have to keep in mind the fitness trifecta: committing to a goal, pushing yourself until you reach that goal, and allowing your body to properly recover. A well-rested and fueled body keeps the fitness cycle in motion, and CrossFtit® classes can keep you running at full intensity towards your goals.

Commit yourself to listening to the experts at CrossFit Hawaii Kai as they take you through CrossFit® exercises that fit your goals. There are classes for beginners, kids, and more experienced participants looking for their CrossFit® certification. Since 2008, the culture at the facility has been to help their trainees focus their goals, set plans on how to obtain those goals in a safe and healthy manner, and more importantly, how to let their bodies recover.

Slowing down just might be the key for a great CrossFit® workout. Physical recovery does not necessarily mean stopping, but adjusting the intensity level and working different muscle groups. Repeating the same workouts at the same intensity each day can result in injury and exhaustion. Listen to your body. If you have delayed onset muscle soreness, give yourself a day off.

While you are resting, don’t forget to jumpstart the recovery process by adding water and protein. Hydrating after a workout is essential to keep your metabolism going and to replenish lost electrolytes, while chowing down on a small protein-packed meal will start to rebuild the muscle tissue you are tearing down to make yourself stronger. Great high-protein snacks include nuts, peanut butter spread over fruits, and eggs.
